Black Hills Vacation

Turk Face cheese-ing it up for the camera.

"Honey Bunches of Love" and "Honey Bear"
a.k.a. Alyssa and B-Dub

Devil's Tower. We drove 3 hours to see a rock. It was the longest day ever. The other family that we were camping with wanted to see it so low and behold, we had to go to. Not fun.

Bear Country U.S.A.
(since I don't know how to rearrange pictures after they are already uploaded, this one is out of place. Sorry!)

Needles Highway in Custer State Park.

The Tunnel. Everytime we come across a tunnel and go through it, we honk our horn to see how ridiculous it sounds inside.

Needles Highway.

Rushmore Cave. It told us to stop and take a picture. Oh I should have taken a picture of the picture sign!

Our tour guide, Jeremy. He was hilarious!

The original enterance into Rushmore Cave.

One of the paths at the beginning of the tour. Shortly after this picture was taken, the camera died.

Bear Country!! Super excited to see bears!

This bear wanted to get out so bad! It kept going back and forth trying to get out.

An ugly Mountain Goat.

Wait for it.......
LOL :)

Elk. I would think those antlers would cause them to be top heavy.

Artic Wolf.

White Buffalo!

Oh, give me a home, where the buffalo roam... I was super excited to see buffalo! Saturday we spent the morning driving through Custer State Park hoping to see buffalo and other wildlife. We only saw a few at that State Park. Then as my sisters, B-Dub, and me were driving to windcave, we saw a whole lot of them right before the entrance to the Windcave Park.
Here are just a few pictures of buffalo!

I do have more vacation pictures, but maybe that will be another post another day!

Black Hills Vacation

We left for the Black Hill, SD Wednesday June 24 (the little sister's 19th birthday) around 5:30 a.m.
Turk Face bright eyed and bushy tailed. We originally thought that she would go back to sleep on the way to the Black Hills, but she didn't fall asleep until about an hour BEFORE we got to the campground.

The little sister, Alyssa, trying to hid from the camera. She thought that by covering her face with the clear plastic lid, that I would get a picture of her. Nice try!

Alyssa, Ashley (in the green shirt), Me, and B-Dub (Bryce, Alyssa's boyfriend) playing Phase 10 at the campground.

I am trying to teach Alyssa, B-Dub, and Ashley how to play Phase 10. They made it so much harder than it was.

Alyssa and B-Dub at Mt. Rushmore. The guy with his back turned to the camera wearing the hat, blue plaid shirt, and black pj pants? Yup that's my dad. He's embarrassing!

Some teepees along the trails at Mt. Rushmore.

I have to admit that we were pretty excited to see Mt. Rushmore and then we get there and the faces were so much littler that we expected. It was still cool though!

Mt. Rushmore lighting at night. This is the best picture, out of 3 cameras, that we got.

Scrappy Show and Tell

Here are a couple of layouts that I did in the past couple of weeks. All are for my little sister's album except the 1st Birthday Cake layout.

My little sister being sill at basketball camp.

My little sister and one of her friends.

My niece at her first birthday party. Journaling reads: B had a blast with her first birthday cake. She took about two bites and then just played with it until the whole thing ended up on the floor. Picture taken October 18, 2008

My little sister and a group of her friends.

My little sister being weird, as usual. :)
My little sister and one of her friends both being silly at a football game.

My little sister and two of her friends.

My little sister being really weird and going through our doggy door. What a weirdo! :) Love ya sis!!
I have a long ways to go before I am done with my little sister's album. Did I mention that it has to be done by May 15? Two days before her high school graduation. Ugh... I forsee long nights ahead of me.

Couple of Cards

Here are a couple of cards that I made awhile ago and just got around to posting.

I made this card for a friend of mine who had a baby boy in November. The L is for his name.

I made this for Baby B's first birthday.

I made this for my stepmom and Dad to give to Baby B for her first birthday.

I'm Alive

Just wanted to pop in and say that I am alive and all is well. Sorry that I have been MIA for a long time. I just didn't feel like doing anything. I haven't even touched my scrapbooking stuff since before Christmas. I'm itching to sit down and scrapbook and do something crafty, but then I sit at my table and don't want to do anything. I have no mojo, and I need to get it back ASAP!!! I have a ton of crafty ideas floating around in my head that I need to get out, but I have no ambition to even start any of these projects.

Hopefully this week, I will do something productive and sit down and write an actual post.

Happy Halloween!

I know its a little late, but oh well. I have been away.

This is Turk Face in her fairy costume! Isn't it adorable? She was so cute in it! You can't see it from the pictures but she has purple and lime green striped tights on. They are size 2T and the only size the store had besides 6 months. I told my sister to just buy the 2T because she can grow into them and that she can wear them under a dress or skirt when she gets a little bigger. This costume is from Gymboree.

In this first picture, I don't know how well you can see it, but if you look at the left, bottom corner on a purple petal, you can faintly see a lime green streak? If not, then, imagine it is there. The day we got this costume for Turk, my sister wanted to show it to our stepmom. So we had Turk in it (which was hard to get her into it) and she was walking around in the basement where my little sister was. Well my dear little sister decided that leaving the cap to some lime green fingernail polish unscrewed is the new thing to do and Turk got a hold of it and got some lime green fingernail polish on her BRAND NEW costume. My little sister argued that it wasn't her fault that Turk got fingernail polish on her brand new costume--she said that Turk shouldn't have touched it. Well, dear little sister. Let me remind you that she is one year old and is getting into everything. So, yes, dear little sister, it is your fault that she got fingernail polish on her brand new costume as you did not screw the cap back on the said fingernail polish. At least the polish was lime green and matched Turk's costume.

Happy *Late* 1st Birthday Turk Face!

First things first, sorry that I haven't blogged in like forever.

Now on to more important things-Baby Turk Face. She is getting so big now. I like it and then I don't like it. I wish she was still the baby who didn't move and fuss when you try to cuddle with her. She is not a cuddler and that makes me sad. She walks now (has been about 2 months now) and she is all over the place. She does this one thing where I will be sitting on the couch and she will sidestep past me because she knows that she isn't suppose to go into the kitchen and then I get up and she drops down on all fours and bolts out of there. It is funny. She is becoming WAY more vocal now. She has started to say "buh bye" and "uh oh". I have been trying to get her to say "Amy" but that one is a no go for now. I will not rest until she can say my name! :)

Baby Turk Face celebrated her 1st birthday on Friday October 17, 2008. I guess I can stop calling her "baby" now huh? We had a party for her on Saturday the 18th with family and a few of my sister's friends. Friday night, my sister brought Turk over to open some presents because I had one that she had to open on her birthday.

This first picture she opened this present (from me) on her actual birthday. I didn't get a picture uploaded of her and the present, but I got her the Dr. Suess book "Happy Birthday to You".
These next pictures are from her party the next day. I went to Wacky Bear Factory (like Build a Bear) and made Turk a bear named Blair for her birthday. You can see half of the bear in this picture and of course the cute Turk!
Cake, cake, cake. Gotta love cake, frosting, and a one year old! She had a hay day eating this! It was really fun to watch her as well. She would take a few bites of just frosting and then get this sour look on her face. She enjoyed playing in it more than eating it. When she decided that she had enough, she picked up the cake and threw it on the floor. Fun times let me tell you. I'm just glad that I didn't have to clean it up off the floor. Cleaning her up, though, was pure torture. She was so crabby and tired by then that all she wanted to do was sleep.

She had a great first birthday and got tons of presents.
